Your team is a group of auto repair professionals, with experience totaling 150 years of professional experience.

Randy and Cathy Lucyk
My name is Randy Lucyk and along with my
wife Cathy we have owned an automotive service facility in Kalkaska for 41 years. I started out in the industry in Westland Mi. working for a VW, Porsche, Audi
specialists.
In 1978 I moved my family to Kalkaska, and
went to work first in the oilfield, and then for the county road commission. After a few years, in May 1981, I realized one of my dreams, by opening my own business. I started out as a
VW/Audi/Porsche guy working alone in a rented building on the north end of Kalkaska where Burger King now stands. The company evolved to servicing most imported makes and models over the next
several years with me serving in all capacities necessary to run a business. Additional techs and helpers were hired along the way.
Cathy continued to work outside the business
(till 2005)in various positions, starting out at the local grocery store in the late seventies and early eighties and spent the last 20 years of so in various office capacities with oil field
and construction companies.
In '86 we purchased our current location. In
1992 we expanded our facility to include two additional bays and a write-up/customer area. We also began servicing domestic vehicles. We took on a Midas franchise in 1997 and moved it into the
current facility. We added on to the building again in 04-05 to include additional bays and a two bay drive through quick lube. That brought us to 10 service bays and 2 quick lube bays
under one roof.(about 10k sq. ft.). In 2012 we changed again. We co-branded the Midas shop with another Midas company Speedee Lube and Tune. It is a modern image and model that I expected will
provide a good foundation for a profitable future.
We have two son's, Brent, 43 and Eric, 41.
Brent, a geologist with a large environmental firm, along with his wife Miranda, and our 9 year old grandson, Zane, live in Kalkaska. Eric works with Michigan Blood where I suspect he will have
a long and successful career. Eric along with his wife Misty live in Kalkaska with our 6 year old granddaughter Lauren.
Cathy's passion is crafting and she is quite
inventive. My passion is fishing, hunting, atving, snowmobiling and just generally being outside with family and close friends. I have traveled extensively on atv's and snowmobiles in remote parts of
Ontario, which is my personal passion.
I currently serve on the board for KAIR in
Kalkaska, which is our local food pantry as well as the Kalkaska Public Library. I was a volunteer for North Country Hospice in Kalkaska for last 23 years, served on other local boards, organized the
Kids Trout Pond at the National Trout Festival for almost 20 years. Midas of Kalkaska is an avid supporter of local community initiatives and events. My son Eric organized his 11th year of the
Kalkaska Ice Bowl Charity disc golf tournament recently with proceeds going to our local Meals on Wheels program and the local food pantry. Kalkaska Midas is the primary sponsor. Turns out we
were 13th in the nation last year for funds raised. I am very proud of both my boys.
